AIR PUMP
Low oxygen levels are rarely a problem if an aquarium is well-maintained and not overstocked. However, if your fish are gasping at the surface of the water, it should set off a red flag prompting further investigation.
Aeration takes place on the water surface, and one of the most effective way to increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water is through the use air pumps to create movement on the water surface (i.e. the bursting of bubbles). The greater the water is being agitated, the greater air exchange rate will take place.
Various air pumps are available in the market to cater to fish tanks of different sizes and water volume. Be sure to select the correct air pump to keep your aquarium well oxygenated!
